Managing the Look and Feel of a Portlet

Complete the following steps to change the look and feel of a portlet.  This example uses the Training Portlet.  Changes may include adding a border, changing the background color, font, etc.

 
  
  1. Navigate to the portlet for which you wish to configure the look and feel.  This example uses the My Sites portlet.  

  2. Click Options. options.gif

  3. Click Look and feel.

  1. Perform one or more of the following:

 

If you wish to change the portlet's...

Then...

text style

  1. Click Text Styles.

  2. Use the drop down menus to set the style, color, font type, etc.

  3. Click Save.

background color

  1. Click Background Styles.

  2. Select the new color.

  3. Click Save.

border

  1. Click Border Styles.

  2. Use the drop down menus to select the border width, style, and color.

  3. Click Save.

margin and/or padding

  1. Click Margin and Padding.

  2. Use the drop down menus to select the spacing.

  3. Click Save.

style sheet of the portlet

  1. Click Advanced Styling.

  2. Determine if this CSS will apply only to this portlet, or all portlets like it by clicking the corresponding link.

  3. Add the CSS in the open text field.

  4. Click Save.

 

 

Results

You have successfully  managed the look and feel of a portlet.
